Why would an MRI show “normal” results even when you don’t feel normal after a brain injury?Let’s break it down for ya, Dr. Pendleton specializes in Acquired Brain Injury rehabilitation, so he knows a thing or two about the limitations of MRI scans. ⏰ Early on, brain injuries may take time to develop and become visible on an MRI.🔍 MRIs are normally pretty good at detecting bigger issues like bleeding or tumors, but they can miss those small changes that may still cause symptoms. ⚙️ Some brain injuries affect function, which may not show up on an MRI but will show up on specific tests such as eye tracking and balance.🤒 Symptoms in real life may not match what is seen on the MRI, but it doesn’t mean that there isn’t an issue.
