While the diet focuses on 10 foods, you are able to eat outside the recommendations to some extent. Research shows following this diet closely (but not exactly) will still provide benefits to your overall brain health unlike similar diets such as the Mediterranean Diet. Following the MIND Diet even moderately will add years to your life, improve your daily life, and lower your risk of Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.
The MIND Diet Works
While researchers have not been able to 100% determine why this diet works so well, they believe it’s due to the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects of the included foods as well as the lessened consumption of potentially harmful beta-amyloid proteins. What’s important is that studies show it works, even when not followed to a T. We love that you can find success in varying degrees to meet your needs and your goals.
