Cricket’s Success Story

woman with glassesI was 55 years old when I first went to see Dr. Pendleton for help with some vision problems.

I had had nystagmus since I was 18, and my double vision had been growing worse over the past 15 years. After a series of tests, Dr. P determined that my two problems were related, caused by my brain, not my eyes, and likely traced back to a concussion I suffered my senior year in high school.

Working with Dr. P, Jordan and Judy has been very pleasant and helpful.  Learning that my challenges are the result of an old brain injury has reduced my frustration.  I also see that my condition is aggravated by stress and fatigue, so I am learning to be kinder and more patient with myself.

With a treatment plan of daily eye/brain exercises the nystagmus has improved enough that I rarely even notice it.  We are now working on retraining my brain to control and coordinate my eyes so I won’t have double vision.  The improvements so far have made it easier for me to do normal activities without straining to see clearly and tiring myself out like in the past.

I’m very happy to have found Dr. P and thankful for his help in repairing my old brain injury.
